Currency in Oceania in Orwell's 1984

In George Orwell's 1984, Oceania does not have a conventional currency. The Party uses "Victory Gin" as a tool of control and pacification, alongside rationing and the abolition of traditional money. The economy is centrally planned and non-monetary for ordinary citizens.
