The Sui Gas bill calculation formula in Pakistan is as follows:
Gas Consumption = Reading 1 - Reading 2
Gas Consumption in Therms = Gas Consumption × C.V.
Gas Bill (before taxes) = Gas Consumption in Therms × Rate
Where:
- Reading 1 is the current meter reading.
- Reading 2 is the previous meter reading.
- CV is the calorific value of natural gas, which is 38 MJ/m3.
- Rate is the gas tariff, which varies depending on the gas company and the consumer's location.
Taxes
The following taxes are added to the gas bill:
- General Sales Tax (GST): 17%
- Infrastructure Development Cess (IDC): 1.25%
The total gas bill, including taxes, is calculated as follows:
Gas Bill (including taxes) = Gas Bill (before taxes) × (1 + GST% + IDC%)
