The currency of Turkey is the Turkish lira. The Turkish lira is divided into 100 kuruş. The lira was introduced in 1844, replacing the Ottoman kuruş. The lira was pegged to the French franc until 1914, when it was devalued. The lira has been devalued several times since then, most recently in 2018.
