Flights fly into GRA-HIA from cities such as Detroit, Baltimore, Boston, Charlotte and Cleveland.       Book a bus tour to Gettysburg. DC Tours offers day trips to Gettysburg that leave Washington D.C. on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays during the summers and on Mondays during the winters. The tour, which encompasses a 10-hour day (approximately two hours of travel time each way), departs from Union Station in Washington D.C. Travelers see the historic Gettysburg battlefield where the Gettysburg Diorama gives a narrated history of the Gettysburg battle, along with accompanying sound and light effects. If you come from the Maryland/Washington DC area, south of Gettysburg, drive northbound along Route 270 through Gaithersburg, Frederick, Thurmont and Emmitsburg until you reach Gettysburg. Route 116 (Hanover Road) leads into Gettysburg from both the east and the west.
