A U.S. passport valid for at least six months from the date of entry into Honduras is required to enter the country. A visa is not required for tourists.
Border officials are charged with determining how long you will be able to stay in Honduras. Ninety days is the maximum for your stay, but if you choose to travel to other CA-4 countries for a length of time that would put you over 90 days, you may ask for a one-time extension from border officials in the CA-4 country where you are.
You must prove your intent to depart Honduras and when that will be. A return ticket, itinerary or proof of your onward journey is required at ports of entry into the country.
Because of the high rate of AIDS/HIV in Honduras, American visitors with certain communicable diseases must present a medical certificate. To determine whether you must present a health certificate, contact the Honduran embassy or local consulate.
