Hotels Near Pine Knob, Kentucky

The Kentucky community known as Pine Knob makes up the area surrounding Pine Knob Lake, which is located in an hour or so outside of Louisville. Although there is little commerce to speak of within Pine Knob, other towns within a 25-mile radius provide lodging options for visitors to the area.
  1. Rough River Dam Lodge

    • The hotel option closest to Pine Knob is Rough River Dam Lodge, about 10 minutes to the north. The lodge is located within Rough River State Park, which is made up of rocky, forest-covered hills alongside a series of winding lakes and rivers. The lodge provides 40 rooms, all with private balconies offering views of nearby Rough River lake. Guests typically stay at the lodge to take advantage of the ample fishing, hiking and canoeing in the area. While there isn't much nightlife, the lodge has an on-site restaurant and lounge serving up traditional Kentucky fare.

    Hatfield Inn

    • The city closest to Pine Knob is Leitchfield, with a population of just over 6,000, which is located about 15 miles east of the Pine Knob area. Here you'll find the Hatfield Inn, named after the Hatfield family of the famous Hatfield-McCoy feud from the late 1800s. The historical presence goes beyond the name, however, with an antique country home design that includes a common-area fireplace. The rooms provide all the modern amenities, such as cable television and wireless Internet, and the inn serves a complimentary breakfast.

    Beaver Dam Inn

    • A bit farther west, just under 30 miles from Pine Knob, is the Beaver Dam Inn in the town also known as Beaver Dam. This is a typical modern, economy roadside lodging with two stories of standard-sized rooms that offer queen beds, cable TV and free wireless Internet. The hotel provides a complimentary breakfast, as well as ample of amounts of free parking. An outdoor pool is open during the warmer months; and although there is no on-site restaurant, several eateries, as well as a few local attractions such as the Bluegrass Motorcycle Museum, are a short drive down the road.

    Eagle Inn

    • The Eagle Inn in Beaver Dam is on the other side of town but operated by the same company, Magnuson Hotels, as the Beaver Dam Inn. It is also similar in size and accommodations, with free wireless Internet and cable television but no pool. All rooms at the Eagle Inn restrict smoking as well as any type of pet. The Magnuson chain offers its own rewards club, the Star Club, which provides exclusive discounted rates to its members and would apply to both the Beaver Dam Inn and the Eagle Inn.
