One of the most popular places to stay in Turtle Bay while honeymooning is the Turtle Bay Resort. Perfect for the couple who doesn't need to leave the hotel room throughout their stay, this hotel's honeymoon package includes butler service and sparkling wine and strawberries. The hotel also offers a cottage package that includes a Hawaiian-style tea, hot tubs and cottage concierge. Their full-service spa offers couple massages, couple pedicures and couple body treatments.
Condo rentals are also available for the newlyweds who enjoy the comforts of vacation, yet would rather have the option to feel more "at home." Condos can be rented for one week up to a few months. Several rental agencies offer romantic beach cottages. This option is slightly more affordable than a hotel stay, yet it still offers many of the same amenities.
Turtle Bay appeals to most honeymooners because its beaches are less crowded and relatively quieter than many of the beaches in Oahu. Kawela Bay Beach is located at the furthest point north in Turtle Bay, and it offers excellent fishing and swimming, which is the perfect activity for newlyweds. Sunset Beach is perfect for the active couple who enjoy surfing and water sports. Similarly, Waimea Bay Beach offers more fishing and cliff diving. Snorkeling and horseback riding are also available for those interested in more romantic activities.
For fine dining options and romantic scenery, Ola offers authentic, Hawaiian cuisine, fine wines and excellent service. This restaurant offers dishes like, slow poached salmon, grilled lobster tail, and mushroom risotto in truffle oil. 21 Degrees North, the on site restaurant of the Turtle Bay Resort, offers stunning views, an intimate setting and high-end service. For a light lunch, try the Kahuku Superette. The name may not sound romantic, but it offers some of the freshest fish on the North Shore.
Hollywood loves shooting movies in Hawaii. Because the North Shore attracts less tourists, there are more filming locations. "Blue Crush," "Fifty First Dates," and "Blue Hawaii" were all filmed on the North Shore. In 2007, Director Judd Apatow filmed "Forgetting Sarah Marshall," a romantic comedy, at the Turtle Bay Resort. Nearly the entire movie was filmed on location at the resort and the surrounding areas.
