Five miles of beachfront make Turtle Bay Resort a prime location for water activities. The resort offers rentals for boogie boards, skim boards and snorkeling sets. Take a scuba diving lesson or just relax at one of the Turtle Bay Resort swimming pools.
Some of the world's largest waves are found on the North Shore, making this a favorite spot for surfers year-round. Visit the resort in November and December and you may have the opportunity to see world-class surfers competing in professional surfing tournaments.
Winter surfing on the North Shore can be challenging even for an experienced surfer. If you are a novice, consider visiting during the summer months when the waves are calmer. See the marine wildlife of the North Shore with a guided kayak tour. Turtle Bay Resort partners with Shaka Kayaks to offer two hour tours of Kawela Bay. Endangered wildlife animals are often found in this protected bay, including green sea turtles, humpback whales and monk seals. Single-person kayaks feature a peek-a-boo window in the floor of the kayak to view marine life. Double-person kayaks (without a window) are also available.
There are plenty of activities for guests out of the water as well. Hike through 12 miles of resort trails, horseback ride along the scenic coastline or take a tennis lesson at the Tennis Center at Turtle Bay Resort. Rent a moped and visit historic sites on Oahu Island. Turtle Bay Resort provides an exclusive shopping experience for its guests. Shops include island fashions and swimsuits, boutique jewelry and handmade souvenirs.
Feast at Turtle Bay Resort's Voyages of Polynesia Luau. Six Polynesian dances are performed, beginning with a hip dance from the Tuamotu Islands and ending with an electrifying fire dance. The show includes a kukui nut lei, dinner buffet and a cocktail or non-alcoholic beverage.
Turtle Bay Resort is the home of two championship 18-hole golf courses, the Arnold Palmer course and the Fazio course. The Arnold Palmer course was designed by Arnold Palmer and Ed Seay. The course hosts the SBS Open at Turtle Bay, and golfers of all skill levels will be challenged by its design. The Fazio course is the only one in Hawaii designed by George Fazio and has previously hosted the LPGA Tour's Hawaiian Open.
