Modeled after the shingle-style hotels of Nantucket, Disney's Yacht Club Resort is situated on the 25-acre Crescent Lake and has the formal ambiance of a New England yacht club. The resort features a wide range of activities, including pedal boat rentals, private cruises and Stormalong Bay, which is a 3-acre water park. In the evening, Disney's Yacht Club Resort offers a mix of family entertainment and sophisticated adult nightlife.
Every night, Disney's Yacht Club Resort offers a campfire, sing-along and Disney movie, which is ideal for an evening of family entertainment. According to Magical Kingdom sources, the campfire and sing-along are held at the resort on the beach of Lake Crescent with marshmallows and s'mores available for purchase. Following the one-hour campfire, Disney movies are shown on the beach or inside during inclement weather. The campfire and Movies Under the Stars are available to all Disney's Yacht Club Resort guests. Guests should bring a beach towel to sit on during the movie. Disney's Yacht Club Resort offers a few options for children and families who prefer a little competition. According to Magical Kingdom sources, each evening the resort offers a ping pong tournament from 5 to 6 p.m. for all ages. The ping pong tournament is held on the resort property behind Hurricane Hannas. From 6 to 7 p.m. each night, there is a water volleyball tournament for all ages. Both activities are held weather permitting and may change seasonally.
The Ale & Compass Lounge, located in Disney's Yacht Club Resort, provides a place for adults to unwind after a busy day at the parks. An American cuisine restaurant during the day, the Ale & Compass Lounge offers premium liquors, wine and beer in the evenings--all in a classy, yacht club setting.
Sandcastle Club is located in Disney's Beach Club Resort, next door to the Yacht Club Resort, and is available to Yacht Club Resort guests. While adults enjoy a night on the town, children ages 4 to 12 enjoy arts and crafts, movies, computer games, dinner and snacks in a fun environment. Sandcastle Club is open every day from 4:30 p.m. to midnight. If you prefer for your children to receive one-on-one attention, Yacht Club Resort also offers in-room babysitting through Kids Nite Out, an independent babysitting service. In-room babysitting is available for children ages 6 months to 12 years. According to Disney sources, reservations for childcare services are required and can be made through the Disney's Yacht Club Resort Concierge Services.
