A new rider should learn to ride in a basic course. A basic course will teach the rider how and when to shift and break. He also learns how make a turn using basic hand signals. The rider will ride over and around objects that may be on the road. They will also be taught where it is best to ride in certain conditions.
A more advanced rider will learn additional hand signals to use when slowing down and pointing out hazards. He will learn what to do when riding in heavy traffic, and will also get real road experience and learn how to ride in a group. An advanced motorcycle driving school class may even cover some first aid and crash scene management skills.
The Illinois Council of Safety is located not far from Aurora, in West Chicago, IL. ICS offer motorcycle driving instruction from basic to advanced workshops to perfect any driving style. The instructors are highly trained and keep up-to-date with the latest curriculum and skills.
The Midwest Police Motorcycle Training of Illinois is a little different from ICS. Before taking a class riders must have an endorsement. The school offer specific advanced classes. The basic civilian class is very close to police officer basic training. Other classes offered to civilians are on street and defensive traffic riding.
