How long can you stay in the Atlantic ocean before hypothermia sets in?

It depends on several factors such as the water temperature, your body's size and shape, the amount of body fat you have, your clothing, and your level of activity. In general, hypothermia can set in within an hour or two in cold water (below 50°F).
