In the story, Daedalus and his son Icarus are imprisoned in a tall tower. Daedalus makes wings for both of them so they can escape. Daedalus warns Icarus not to fly too close to the sun, because the glue holding the wings together will melt, but Icarus ignores this advice and soars into the sky. Unfortunately, Icarus flies too close to the sun and plunges to his death. This reminds us of the importance of listening to those more experienced than us and avoid doing foolish and arrogant things, that have serious potentially adverse consequences.
