The group takes a ferry to Belgium and cycles through the town of Brugges, where the locals produce lace and chocolate. The tour stops at scenic areas and points of interest along the route to Paris, including tiny villages, castles and cathedrals. Once in Paris, students visit the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre and the Left Bank. The final leg of the tour is a day in Versailles before boarding a plane back to the United States. The Spain, Portugal and Paris tour begins in Seville, Spain. Students pedal along the Spanish coast into Portugal near ancient Roman architecture and sandy beaches. The group stays in Portugal for three days before returning to Spain via country roads past Santiago de Compostela, a medieval walled town atop a hill famous as a pilgrimage destination during the Middle Ages. Additional stops in Spain include the Alhambra (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), Costa del Sol, Toledo and Madrid. The tour group doesn't pedal to France but takes a train into Paris for three days of sightseeing. Highlights include the Eiffel Tower, Parisian cafes, the River Seine and Notre Dame.
