Determine your eligibility. Australians and New Zealanders who work more than 20 hours per week in a tourism- or travel-related industry are permitted to join Breakaway Travelclub. Eligible individuals include airline and hotel employees, tour guides, travel writers and workers in duty-free shops. In addition, individuals outside of the travel industry can apply for membership but are not eligible for many discounted fares.
Fill out Breakaway's online membership form and pay the club's membership fee. A basic membership costs $28 per year.
Enter your travel dates and destinations into Breakaway's online booking system to see available fares. If you find a flight that matches your requirements, book it directly through Breakaway's website to take advantage of industry-specific discounts not available to the general public. Even if an industry fare is not available, Breakaway still might offer discounts over regular published fares.
Check your email inbox for Breakaway's weekly electronic newsletter, which includes short-term flight offers and steep discounts on selected airfares. If your travel plans are flexible, taking advantage of these special offers can yield even greater savings.
