Though September and October every autumn, visitors flock to the street festivals all over the state, including La Crosse, Germantown, Lake Geneva, Appleton and New Glarus. Camping is always a cheap getaway because you do not have to pay for service in restaurants or large fees in accommodations. Wisconsin has several regions for campers to visit that provide beautiful backdrops of rivers, lakes and forests. Every year, campers visit a variety of grounds in the Central River Region, the Northwoods and Indian Head. Though each campground is different, many of them offer similar amenities such as bathrooms, RV hookups, snack bars and laundromats. Campers can play volleyball, toss horseshoes or go hiking on a nearby trail. Some campgrounds charge nominal fees, and cabins are often available to rent if you prefer.
