Cheap Seine River, Paris, Cruises

One of the best way to see the city of Paris is by water. Day or night boats travel up and down the Seine River through the heart of the city, past many of the world-famous monuments and sites which line the quaysides above. Travelers have a whole new perspective from the waterline whether seeing the city in the bright sunshine of a day cruise or in the shadowy elegance of a cruise in the evening.
  1. Compagnie des Bateaux Mouches

    • The only thing better than seeing Paris from its quays is seeing it from the river itself.

The Bateaux Mouches have been escorting tourists and Parisians alike up and down the Seine for more than 60 years. Each of the company's five modern boats feature a formal restaurant, entertainment and glass walls all around to provide the clearest views of the city possible. Boats leave for both lunch and dinner cruises from Port de la Conference on the Rive Droite side of Pont de l'Alma near the Eiffel Tower in central Paris. For the best buy, skip the meal and take one of the daily Panoramic Cruises without a meal, which depart from the same port 16 times daily, every 20 minutes from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. during the high season (April 4 through Sept. 30). In the low season (Oct. 1 through March 31), there are 13 departures per day. As of September 2010, the rate for this option in either season is 10 euro (around $13) per adult and 5 euro (around $7) per child.
