For example, there is a United Airlines flight that departs from SFO at 9 a.m. and arrives at the Honolulu/Oahu airport at 11:14 a.m. for a total flight time of five hours and 14 minutes -- because of a time difference. If you who prefer traveling on red-eye flights, there is an 11 p.m. flight that arrives in San Francisco at 7:11 a.m.

    New York to Hawaii

    • For those of you who desire an adventure that spans from the Atlantic to the Pacific Oceans, flights from New York to the airport in Kahului/Maui, HI, (OGG) begin at $756 through United, Delta and American Airlines. Though the departure and layover times vary, the layover and flight change amount of time ranges from 40 minutes to more than three hours, the shortest being 40 minutes on American Airlines. On the higher end, US Airways in conjunction with United have flights that begin at $886 that depart from JFK at 8:59 a.m., arrive at LAX for a flight change and a two hour and 50-minute layover just after noon and arrives at OGG at 5:34 p.m., all prices apply to 2010.

    New York to Miami

    • For those of you travelers that desire a vacation destination along the coast, there are a few flights options available to Miami for under $200. American Airlines has a nearly three-hour non-stop flights from New York, JFK to Florida, MIA that depart at 5:35 and arrives in Miami at 8:45 a.m. For an even cheaper option, if you add one stop to your return flight, flights are available for $161, as of 2010. One such flight departs from Miami at 7:14 p.m. and after a 33-minute layover and flight change in Charlotte, North Carolina, this flight arrives in KFK at midnight.
