High-end Caribbean resorts including the Occidental Grand Pineapple Beach in Antigua, Sugar Bay Club in St. Kitts and Ti Kaye Village sells day passes to non hotel guests for a nominal fee. The day pass fee ranges anywhere from $45 to $100 with $45 being the average. The amenities include breakfast, lunch, pool access, complimentary beverages and equipment rentals. Day pass guests should make reservations in advance and haggle to make sure they don't pay more.
Known for its premier nightlife, exclusive beach resorts, and fine dining, "St. Maarten doesn't have to cost a fortune," says Caribbean Travel & Leisure. Budget travelers can find $2 beers, hotels under $99, and bus tickets for $1. A town hotel which accommodates up to three to four rooms is an affordable option with room rates that range from $60 to $90. The St. Maarten Boardwalk provides free entertainment with a lovely stroll on the beach and on Fridays local musicians play free live music. Public transportation offers an economical way of getting around St. Maarten with plenty of routes and stops for convenience.
Coral Costa Caribe resort offers an inexpensive all-inclusive option for budget travelers. The recently renovated Coral Costa Caribe in Dominican Republic offers all inclusive rates for less than $200 per night. All the rooms offer either an ocean or garden view and amenities include air-conditioner, private bathrooms, cable TV and safety deposit boxes. The 422-room resort amenities include five dining options including three specialty restaurants, six bars and a pool bar open 24-hours. Daily activities include equipment rental and nightly entertainment. For an additional fee, resort guests can enjoy various spa services at the hotel spa or gamble at the American Casino, the Costa Caribe resort casino. As of 2010, all inclusive rates start at $190 per night for a standard room.
