The campground is accessible by car and offers electricity and sanitary dumping facilities. Recreational opportunities at Shabbona Lake include trails for hiking, picnic areas and a 744-acre hunting area. Hunting includes firearms for dove and archery for deer. During the winter, Shabbona Lake offers snowmobile riding and ice skating on the lake.
