Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg are within seven miles of each other and just a few miles from the Great Smoky Mountains National Park offering several hiking trails and outdoor activities. Both Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg are tourist attractions because of the mountainous and picturesque views of the Smoky Mountains. Both towns offer inexpensive motel accommodations for those traveling on a budget.
