Who was the first group of people to go Hawaii?
The first known people to settle in the Hawaiian Islands were Polynesians, who arrived in the islands around 200–1000 AD. They are believed to have originated from the Marquesas Islands, located about 2,000 miles northeast of Hawaii. The Polynesians were skilled sailors and navigators, and they used their knowledge of the ocean to travel great distances across the Pacific Ocean. They brought with them their culture, language, and customs, which form the basis of Hawaiian culture today.
