Were there any celebrations for Apollo?

The Greeks and Romans celebrated Apollo with festivals, hymns, prayers, and offerings of food and drink to the god. One of the most important festivals in Apollo's honor was the Pythian Games. These games were held in Delphi every four years and included athletic competitions, musical contests, and poetry readings. There was also a festival in Apollo's honor in Athens called the Thargelia. During this festival, people sacrificed goats to Apollo and sang hymns in his honor.
