When was embassy row built?

The majority of Embassy Row in Washington, D.C. was developed between 1900 and 1930. Many of the grand mansions lining Massachusetts Avenue NW were originally built as private residences for wealthy families but were later converted into embassies and diplomatic missions. Some notable examples include the British Embassy, the Italian Embassy, and the French Embassy.
