Was there a bridge across sydney harbor prior the building of bridge?
There were no bridges across the Sydney Harbour before the construction of the Sydney Harbour Bridge. The idea of a bridge had been envisioned for many years, however, due to the harbour's width, depth, and strong currents, it was considered a significant engineering challenge. The construction of the Sydney Harbour Bridge commenced on 28 July 1923 and was completed on 19 March 1932, officially opening on 19 May 1932.
