What did the renaissance people do in castles?

Renaissance people did not typically live in castles. Castles were primarily medieval fortifications and residences of the nobility, and their use declined significantly during the Renaissance period (14th-17th century). Instead of castles, Renaissance people commonly resided in palaces, villas, townhouses, and other types of urban or rural dwellings.
