Population Movements in Greece After the Dark Age (1100–800 BCE)

The Greek Dark Ages (c. 1100–800 BCE) saw widespread migration due to:

• Upheaval: Wars, invasions, economic collapse made settled life precarious.
• Climate change: Drier conditions reduced agricultural viability, pushing people to more favorable areas.
• New opportunities: Emerging urban centers offered trade, craft, and maritime prospects.
