Is same-sex marriage legal in Cape Verde?

Same-sex marriage is not currently legal in Cape Verde. Same-sex couples in Cape Verde can enter into a civil union, known as a "união de facto", which provides some legal protections and benefits, but does not confer the same rights and responsibilities as marriage.
