The cruises from Southampton to Buenos Aires are aboard the ship Black Watch, taking you to three ports of call in Brazil, including Rio de Janeiro, Recife, and Salvador, before heading on to Montevideo, Uruguay and Buenos Aires, Argentina.
The Black Watch is not a mammoth ship and has only about 448 cabins. It features balcony suites, several swimming pools and spas, a card room, several bars, and a more intimate feel than cruising on the ships with 1,000-plus rooms.
This cruise, also run by Fred Olsen Cruise Lines, provides a chance to see some of inland Brazil, as opposed to just ports of call. The 36-day cruise leaves from Southampton, with stops in the Canary Islands, Tobago, Antigua and the Azores, before taking passengers to the rainforest of Brazil.
The trip has the option of staying overnight in an Amazon guest house. The cruise takes place aboard the Boudicca, a 449-cabin ship with a historical British theme. The ship is the sister ship to the Black Watch. Unlike the Southampton to Buenos Aires cruise, this cruise includes a return to the port of departure.
