Single Volunteers is a nationwide chain that provides service opportunities specifically for singles. For those in the southeastern United States, the company has branches in Central and South Florida, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Virginia, all providing day-long and excursion volunteer opportunities. While many of the volunteer opportunities are locally-based, such as doing work in soup kitchens and rebuilding projects, various local chapters do plan longer service vacations throughout the year.

If you're looking for a volunteer vacation a little closer to home, check out the Appalachian Mountain Club. The hiking club, based on the east coast, plans vacations with a service element for singles throughout the year. You'll have to get a membership to the club, but the cost of vacations and trips the group plans is significantly less than an international excursion. To get started, check out the group's Single Social Hiking Welcome Weekends, which take place several times a year.
