Vacation packages are available to several major U.S. hot spots, including Florida, California and Hawaii. Canadian travel website Red Tag Vacations carries a number of different last-minute deals to the U.S., the majority of which are destined for Las Vegas. Vacation packages to major Las Vegas hotels like the Excalibur, Circus Circus, the MGM Grand and the Bellagio are available for purchase as close as 48 hours prior to departure time. Prices range from $725 to $1,500 per person, excluding taxes, for a six-night, seven-day vacation. Trips to Fort Lauderdale, Fla., are also prevalent on the site, with five, seven or 10-day vacation options available at a variety of different hotels. These trips range from $400 to $1,250 per person, depending on choice of hotel and length of stay.
Last-minute vacations to Caribbean destinations are available year-round. Travelers can choose from a variety of Caribbean locales, including Cuba, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Antigua and Aruba. The majority of trips to the Caribbean are all-inclusive, placing travelers at three to five-star resorts for seven-night stays. Travelers may alter their itineraries to make the trips shorter or longer, though their choices become more limited. Last-minute trips from Toronto to the Caribbean are generally available no later than four days in advance. This applies to all Caribbean destinations and trip lengths.
Last-minute vacations from Toronto to Europe are scarce. Vacation packages to European locations usually require booking nearly a full week in advance, making them less of a "last-minute" option. The earliest options available via Red Tag Vacations are seven-day trips to Barcelona, which are offered five days ahead of the departure date at a cost of between $2,100 and $3,500 for a seven-day stay. The number of options increases if travelers are willing to book their trips a week in advance. In this instance, travelers can plan week-long vacations to several popular European locales, including London, Amsterdam, Brussels, Madrid, Munich and Dublin.
