3 Day Cruises in NYC

Because of its geographic location, New York City is not a popular port for three day cruises, simply because three days is not enough time for a cruise ship to sail to the Caribbean or other popular cruise ship destinations from New York. Most three day cruises from New York City are weekend getaways that basically leave New York, sail out to sea, and come back, without stopping at other ports.
  1. Cruise to Nowhere from Carnival

    • Carnival offers a 3-day (2 night) "cruise to nowhere" that leaves from New York City on a Thursday, sails around the Atlantic ocean Thursday and Friday, and returns to New York City on Saturday. This is a great option for a quick weekend getaway on a relaxing cruise ship.

The ship is called the Miracle, and amenities include a casino, spa, several bars and lounges, pool and water slide, Vegas style shows, and gameroom. The cruise to nowhere is only offered during a few select weekends each year.

Weekend Cruises on Norwegian Cruise Lines

    • Norwegian Cruise Lines (NCL) offers 2-day and 3-day cruises as weekend getaways. These cruises leave from New York City, Boston and Miami. They are perfect for a quick romantic getaway or just a night or two away from the house. The two ships that serve this cruise route are the Norwegian Gem and the Norwegian Jewel, both of which offer several bars, restaurants, pools and hot tubs, an art gallery, shops and a variety of rooms and suites.

Carnival Glory: New York to St. John

    • Carnival offers a 4-day cruise from New York City to St. John and back, aboard their ship, the Carnival Glory. The ship leaves from New York City, has a day at sea, then stops in St. John for a day before turning around for one more day at sea and arriving back in New York City. The Carnival Glory has several dining rooms and restaurants, lounges and clubs, clubs and entertainment for kids of all ages, adult entertainment (Vegas style shows and a casino), four pools, a spa and more. While the cruise is four days rather than three days, it is still a great way to sneak in a quick vacation from NYC to the Caribbean.
