1. Get on I-5 S and head ~1,500 km (932 miles) south to San Diego:
* Take the I-5 S interstate, which takes you through Seattle and Portland, merging with I-405 S after Seattle.
* Continue south on I-5 S past Salem, then onto Eugene.
* Pass through Redding and cross the border into California, passing through Sacramento.
* Then continue south through the San Francisco Bay Area (San Francisco, Oakland).
2. In San Diego get on I-10 E:
* After Los Angeles, take the I-10 E interstate, keeping the ocean to your left (West).
* Stay on I-10 E all the way to Palm Springs.
