The Strand Theatre in downtown Shreveport’s West Edge arts district opened in 1925. Refurbished in the early 1980s, the theatre boasts elaborate woodwork, gilding, crystal chandeliers and a large balcony. Just a few blocks away, the Robinson Film Center shows independent movies in a repurposed retail building.
