What age can a teenager be left home alone for extended periods of time in Alberta?

In Alberta, there is no specific age at which a teenager can be left home alone for extended periods of time. However, the Child, Youth and Family Enhancement Act does require that parents or caregivers provide reasonable and necessary care for their children, including supervision that is appropriate for the child's age and level of maturity.
