The highest average temperature in Antarctica was recorded at the Esperanza Base on the Antarctic Peninsula on February 24, 2020. The temperature reached a record high of 18.3 degrees Celsius (65 degrees Fahrenheit), breaking the previous record of 17.5 degrees Celsius set on March 24, 2015, also at the Esperanza Base.
