Why do they say that Norwegians are born with skis?

This is a common misconception and stereotype about Norwegians. While skiing is a popular sport and recreational activity in Norway, and many Norwegians are skilled skiers, it is not true that they are born with skis. Just like people in any other country, Norwegians learn to ski through practice and teaching.
