How long does the snowshoe hare live?
Snowshoe hares typically live for 2 to 3 years in the wild. However, some individuals may live up to 8 to 10 years in captivity. Snowshoe hares are most commonly found in the northern United States and Canada. They are well-adapted to cold weather and snowy conditions, with large paws that help them distribute their weight and keep them from sinking in the snow. Snowshoe hares are also known for their distinctive markings, which include a white belly and tail, and a reddish-brown coat that helps them camouflage themselves in their environment.
