Why did early people not migrate to Antarctica?

Humans did not migrate to Antarctica in prehistory because the continent was almost entirely covered by a thick ice sheet, making it extremely inhospitable for human habitation. The first recorded human expeditions to Antarctica occurred much later, in the early 19th century, when explorers like James Cook, Fabian von Bellingshausen, and Edward Bransfield reached its shores.
