How do animals survive on mount Everest?

While Mount Everest can sustain a few specialized species, due to its extreme conditions, the permanent human or animal life is not possible. Mount Everest can only support life around its base (2000ft above sea level), while its peak remains mostly devoid of oxygen, and with no vegetation or insects.

Some of the animals commonly found in lower to mid-altitude ranges of Mount Everest, include: Snow leopards, Himalayan Thar (goats), Musk deer, Red pandas, Tibetan wolves, Mountain weasels, Monal pheasants, Blood pheasants, Tibetan partridges.
