NYC Public Schools Easter Recess Reopening: Check Official Sources

I cannot provide the exact reopening date for a specific year—NYC Department of Education (DOE) calendars vary annually and are subject to change.

How to Find the Current Date

• Official Calendar: schools.nyc.gov/calendar – PDF for current school year.
• 311 / NYC DOE Hotline: 718-935-2200.
• Your School's Website / Parent Coordinator – Most reliable for building-specific schedules.
• NYC Schools Account (NYCSA) – Parent portal with calendar.

General Pattern

• Easter Recess = Good Friday through following Friday (10 days incl. weekends).
• Schools reopen the Monday after Easter week.
• 2024–25: Recess Mar 29 – Apr 5; reopen Apr 8.

Always verify on the DOE site—snow days, emergencies, or calendar adjustments can shift dates.
