Why are wet and dry seasons in south east Asia reversed on different sides the equator?
Wet and dry seasons in Southeast Asia are not reversed on different sides of the equator. Although both the northern and southern hemispheres of Southeast Asia experience monsoons, the wet and dry seasons occur at different times due to the differing movement of the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ), which is a band of low pressure near the equator that brings heavy rainfall. Generally, monsoons are responsible for wet and dry seasons across regions in Southeast Asia instead of their location relative to the equator.
