1. Obtain a business license. You must first obtain a business license from the City of San Diego. This can be done online or in person at the City Clerk's Office.
2. Apply for a cabaret license. Once you have obtained a business license, you can apply for a cabaret license from the San Diego Police Department. The application fee is $150.
3. Provide required documentation. Along with your application, you will need to provide the following documentation:
* A copy of your business license
* A floor plan of your restaurant
* A list of the entertainment that you will be providing
* Proof of liability insurance
4. Pass an inspection. A San Diego Police Department inspector will inspect your restaurant to ensure that it meets all of the requirements for a cabaret license.
5. Pay the license fee. Once your application has been approved and you have passed the inspection, you will need to pay the license fee. The fee is $1,000 per year.
Once you have obtained a cabaret license, you will be able to provide live entertainment at your restaurant. However, you must comply with all of the terms and conditions of your license, including the following:
* You can only provide live entertainment during the hours that your restaurant is open.
* You can only provide live entertainment in the area of your restaurant that is designated for entertainment.
* You must maintain a safe and orderly environment for your customers.
* You must comply with all applicable noise regulations.
If you violate any of the terms and conditions of your license, you may be subject to fines, penalties, or even revocation of your license.
