Is Nigeria a nation state or country?

Nigeria is a country as well as a nation-state. A nation-state is a political unit characterized by a group of people (a nation) inhabiting a particular territory and claiming that territory as sovereign (a state). Nigeria satisfies both these conditions: it has a distinct territory encompassing various cultures and ethnicities, and is generally considered a nation-state.
