South Africa's 1979 Coinage: Why There's No 2-Cent Piece

South African Coins Minted in 1979

The 2-cent coin was not minted in South Africa in 1979. The denominations produced that year were:

• ½ cent
• 1 cent
• 5 cents
• 10 cents
• 20 cents
• R1 (1 rand)

Therefore, a 1979 South African 2-cent coin does not exist; any such piece would be a fantasy or error.
