Does Angola Have Mountains? Only One High Point
Angola has no mountain ranges. Its terrain is dominated by:
- Coastal lowlands (0–200 m)
- Interior plateau (1,000–1,500 m) — Bié, Huíla, Malanje provinces
- Isolated inselbergs (granite outcrops)
Highest Point
- Mount Moco (Morro de Moco) — 2,620 m (8,596 ft)
- Location: Huambo Province, near Huambo city.
- Part of the Angolan Montane Forest-Grassland Mosaic ecoregion—critical for endemic birds (Swierstra's francolin, Angola cave chat).
Other notable peaks: Mount Mepo (2,582 m), Mount Lubango (2,300 m). But no Alps, Andes, or Rockies-style ranges—just a deeply dissected plateau edge.
