Did Morocco take over Western Sahara?

The political status of Western Sahara is disputed. Morocco controls most of the territory and considers it to be part of Morocco, while the Polisario Front, based in Algeria, claims sovereignty over the entire territory and has established the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic. The United Nations does not recognize Morocco's claim and considers Western Sahara to be a non-self-governing territory.
