How many animals does Brazil have?

It is challenging to provide a precise number for the total number of animal species in Brazil since new species continue to be discovered regularly. However, according to the Brazilian Ministry of the Environment, Brazil is home to approximately 10–12% of the world's known animal species. This puts it in the position of being the most biodiverse country in the world.
