What were the public holidays of Namibia before 1990?

Before 1990, Namibia was under South African occupation and administration. The public holidays during this time were:

- New Year's Day (1 January)

- Good Friday (variable)

- Easter Monday (variable)

- Ascension Day (variable)

- Whit Monday (variable)

- Founders' Day (31 May)

- Republic Day (31 May)

- Day of the Covenant (10 October)

- Kruger Day (10 October)

- Christmas Day (25 December)

- Boxing Day (26 December)

Some of these holidays, such as Founders' Day and Republic Day, were specific to South Africa and its occupation of Namibia. After Namibia gained independence in 1990, these holidays were replaced with new ones that reflected the country's new status as an independent nation.
