Malawi does not possess commercially viable diamond deposits, and there are currently no active diamond mining operations in the country. While small alluvial diamonds have been reported in some river gravels, they occur in quantities too low for economic extraction. Malawi’s mineral sector focuses instead on uranium, coal, limestone, and rare earth elements.
