When did Congo Free State end?
The Congo Free State ended on November 15, 1908, when it became the Belgian Congo, a colony of Belgium. The end of the Congo Free State was brought about by international pressure, led by the British, in response to the atrocities committed against the Congolese people under the rule of King Leopold II of Belgium.
